Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, delivered the opening remarks at the "2023 Taiwan and Thailand Cell Therapy and Regenerative Medicine Forum" held on May 11, 2023, at Lecture Room no. 624, 2nd Floor, Administrative Building, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. The forum was co-hosted by Ramathibodi, Changhua Christian Hospital, and TCI Gene Inc.
 
The forum aimed at sharing professional experiences, challenges, and advice on setting up cellular and immunotherapy systems and regulations in Thailand while Taiwan passed the Regulations of Special Medical Techniques in 2018, facilitating regenerative medicine and paving the way for cell therapy as a new form of treatment for cancer patients and other indications.
 

 

 

On Sunday the 7 of May 2023, the executive team of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, led by Dean Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., and Director of Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute Dr. Pairoj Boonkongchuen, hosted a corporate dinner at Baan Khanitha & Gallery on Sathorn Road. The dinner was held for delegates from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation Cooperation Center - Bangkok (CASICCB) and representatives from various organizations of the People's Republic of China. Key participants included Prof. Jiang Biao, Director of CASICCB, his Deputy Director Ms. Gao Kun, Mr. Wang Qiang (First Secretary) of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China, and Mr. Wu Lin, Vice President of the Bank of China (Thailand).

 

 

On May 2, 2023, Prof. Banchong Mahaisavariya, President of Mahidol University, signed an MoU with Chinese counterparts, Ruijin Hospital and Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation Cooperation Center Bangkok, as an initial step towards the proton therapy project. Joining in this event at the Shangri-La Hotel, as a part of the “Overseas Promotion Campaign: Invest in Shanghai, Share the Future” co-organized by the City of Shanghai, Bank of China, and Thailand’s Board of Investment, were H.E. Mr. Han Zhiqiang, Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Thailand, Mr. Gong Zheng, Mayor of Shanghai, and Mr. Chadchart Sittipunt, Mayor of Bangkok, along with key representatives from public and private sectors. On this occasion, Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., FRCPT, FACP, Dean of the Faculty of Ramathibodi Hospital, Prof. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, M.D., Dean of Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations of Ramathibodi, and Assoc. Prof. Prapat Wanitpongpan, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations of Siriraj,  witnessed the signing ceremony as the partnership is under the joint collaboration between the expertise from Ramathibodi Hospital and Siriraj Hospital. 

 

This event is a tangible outcome of the recent visit of Mahidol University to Shanghai-Harbin-Beijing in April, led by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, to establish a discussion on education, research, and medical services with higher education institutions and health care services in China.

 
On May 1, 2023, Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, and Assoc. Prof. Mongkol Kunakorn, M.D., Head of the Department of Pathology, and the medical lecturers from the Department of Pathology; Assoc .Prof. Ekaphop Sirachaina, M.D., Head of Ramathibodi Comprehensive Cancer Center, Asst. Prof. Prawat Nitiyanant, M.D., and Lect. Dr. Ekawat Pasomsub, together to welcome the delegation from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, China, to visit Ramathibodi's Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center.



The visitors from CAS led by Prof. Rao Zi He, Professor at Shanghai Tech University, followed by Prof. Lin Guo Qiang,  Professor at Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry, and Prof. Dr. Liu Ying Bin, Director of Shanghai Cancer Institute. Prof. Rao Zi He will also be appointed by Mahidol University to be an Adjunct Professor of Ramathbibodi's Department of Pathology.

 
Between April 17 – 22, 2023, the executive team of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, carried on an oversea trip to the Republic of China (Taiwan) to visit Taiwanese medical organizations and exchange ideas on further possible collaborations between the institutes. The trip was led by Clinical Prof. Artit Ungkanont, Deputy Dean, followed by his team comprising Assoc. Prof. Chusak Kijkunasathian, Deputy Dean for Policy; Prof. Dr.Atiporn Ingsathit, Deputy Hospital Director; Dr. Poompis Pattaranutaporn, Assistant Dean for Information Technology; Dr. Sithakom Phusanti, Deputy Director of Chakri Naruebodindra Medical Institute; Dr. Dhanesh Pitidhammabhorn, Deputy Director of Ramathibodi Chakri Naruebodindra Hospital; Dr. Meng-Shin Shiao, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations; Miss Jirawadee Matoon, Head of International Relations, and the team of Nursing staff related.
The trip included the various programs to have site visits and discussions regarding possible partnerships and collaborations. The trip started with visiting activities during April 18 - 19, 2023, at the hospitals under Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH) including Yuanlin Christian Hospital (YCH), CCH. They continued the trip on April 20, 2023, by visiting the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and National Cheng Kung University Hospital (NCKUH), before finishing the trip on April 21, 2023, by visiting the National Taiwan University College of Medicine (NTUCM) and National Taiwan University Hospital (NTUH).

 

 
On April 18, 2023, at the Changhua Christian Hospital (CCH), Taiwan, the executive team from the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, led by Clinical Prof. Artit Ungkanont, M.D., Deputy Dean, along with Associate Professor Chusak Kijkunasathian, Deputy Dean for Policy; Prof. Dr.Atiporn Ingsathit, Deputy Hospital Director; Dr. Poompis Pattaranutaporn, Assistant Dean for Information Technology; Ms.Meng-Shin Shiao, Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations; as well as Miss Jirawadee Matoon, Head of International Relations, attended the Signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding between Ramathibodi and CCH. On this special occasion, Prof.Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, honored the event via the Zoom Webinars online system as the honorable witness.
The ceremony was a part of the oversea trip of Ramathibodi's executives to the Republic of China (Taiwan) during April 17 – 22, 2023.

 

 

Between April 13 - 16, 2023, the executive team of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, carried on a cooperative oversea trip to the People's Republic of China following the official invitation from the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) to visit the medical organizations related the AI/ Surgical Robot and Proton PET/CT Accelerator. The trip was led by Prof. Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., Dean of the Faculty, along with the executives comprising his Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D; Head of the Department of Surgery, Assoc. Prof. Chalermpong Chatdokmaiprai, M.D., the surgeons from Ramathibodi's Department of Surgery and the Department of Diagnostic and Therapeutic Radiology.

The trip included the various programs to have site visits and discussions regarding the possible partnership and collaboration on AI/ Surgical Robot and Proton PET/CT Accelerator. The team started the program in Shanghai on April 13, 2023, to visit the Huashan Hospital, RuiJing Hospital as well as its Proton Center, before finishing the day by visiting the United Imaging Healthcare (UIH) Exhibition Center & Factory. They continued the trip to Harbin on April 14 - 15, 2023, with a site visit to Harbin Sagebot Intelligent Medical Equipment Co., Ltd for the R&D Center of Kangduo Robot Company. Finally, on April 16, 2023, they were invited to visit the Peking University First Hospital / Kangduo Company Training Center for further possible academic collaborations.

 

On March 22, 2023, a group of medical students from Juntendo University, Japan, led by Assoc.Prof.Makoto Hirai, Ph.D., took a site visit at Raj Pracha Samasai Medical Institute in Samut Prakan province to observe the Leprosy case in Thailand, Laboratory, as well as the round ward clinic. 

This visiting activity is part of an international exchange program to strengthen the collaboration between the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital and Juntendo University. The activity was successful and achieved attentiveness among the visiting students from Juntendo.

Prof.Thanyanan Baisamut, M.D. - representative of Ramathibodi's Department of Internal Medicine - provided a welcome to the delegates from Juntendo University namely Prof. Naito Toshio, M.D., Ph.D., and Assoc. Prof. Hirotake Mori, M.D., on the occasion of their visit to Ramathibodi in order to explore further collaboration in the aspects of education and academic exchange. Prof.Naito and Prof.Mori also spent time to site-visit at the in-patient wards of the Department of Internal Medicine.

Prof. Hirotake Mori, M.D., on the occasion of their visit to Ramathibodi in order to explore further collaboration in the aspects of education and academic exchange. Prof.Naito and Prof.Mori also spent time to site-visit at the in-patient wards of the Department of Internal Medicine.

Prof. Prut Hanutsaha, M.D., Deputy Dean for Graduate Education, Assoc. Prof. Poolsuk Janepanish Visudtibhan, Ph.D., Director of Ramathibodi School of Nursing, and Asst. Prof. Jumpee Granger, Ph.D., Deputy Director International Relations Department, joined together in welcoming all delegates from Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China; led by Prof. Jianguo Chen, Vice President for International Affairs and Medicine Affairs, to have a discussion regarding the possible collaborations in the aspect of academic, education, research and innovation between the 2 institutes.

 

March 17, 2023, at Room no.520, 5th floor, Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol university, Prof.Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, together with Prof. Boonsong Ongphiphadhanakul, M.D., Deputy Dean for Research, and Dr. Suparee Boonmanunt, Ph.D., Lecturer of Ramathibodi's Department of Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and Ms.Jirawadee Matoon, Head of International Relations Section, provided welcome to the representatives from the University of Cologne, Germany, led by Dr. Thilo Zimmermann, Office SDG-Manager Department, International Students Global Responsibility Academic Cooperation Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the MENA Region. This visit's objective was to share a discussion regarding the possibility of establishing collaboration between the 2 institutes.
