Barimac

Barimac is a contrast media for usage in medical imaging. This formulation is derived from AIMC CTC Tagging Agent which is exclusively a hospital preparation under petty patent number 15267 registered on 19 June 2019. Barimac, a joint innovation between AIMC and Berlin Pharmaceutical Industry Co. Ltd. was granted FDA number 1A15024/62. This allows the formulation to be used in other hospitals, thus reaching out to a wider range of patients.

    Usage Instructions

Consume 3 times a day, 1 bottle after each meal ( breakfast, lunch, and dinner )

SpikeMac (Needle Free Multi-dose Vial Adaptor) is used for piercing of bottle seals (medicine or saline solution) for easy repeated withdrawal of aqueous content. The snap cap is also handy or easy opening and closing and also to prevent contamination from unprotected exposure. This innovation is protected under petty patent number 13381

       Usage Instruction
       1) Make sure hand is clean.
       2) Apply 70% alcohol to the seal area of the bottle.
       3) Take SpickMac out from its package.
       4) Hold the snap cap with dominant hand.
       5) Pull out the covering of the pointed end. Ensure sterility.
       6) Use the pointed end to pierce into the seal of the bottle at the appropriate location.
       7) Press the device and make sure that the device firmly held onto the bottle.
       8) Open the snap cap. Insert syringe.
       9) Hold onto the bottom of the bottle.
     10) Invert the bottle to pour out the content or use syringe to withdraw.
     11) Close the snap cap after use.

ACCU View

Accuview, developed by AIMC, is used to quantify the percent area of fat in the CT scan of abdomen. Displayable in three-dimensional perspective.

5

Pneumocolon Pump

Pneumocolon pump is a device that can be used to inflate the intestine. Ease of performing endoscopy as well as CT scan can be improved via this technique.

6

CTC Tagging agent

CTC tagging agent is a contrast agent that is capable of adhering to fecal material in the colon. This allows for better differentiation of tissue from fecal material.

AIMC Esophapaste

Contrast media for CT esophageal imaging
By: Prof. Jiraporn Laothamatas and Team, 31 March 2006. Petty patent 2483

The inception of this innovation was brought about in the light of the following problems:

     1) The ingestible contrast media for esophageal CT imaging which must be imported from outside of Thailand is costly and low in viscosity,
resulting in poor adhesion of the esophagus.
     2) The contrast media used for normal X-ray is too viscous which can result in Streak Artifact and poor image quality.

This led to the research and development of AIMC Esophapaste that can address both the aforementioned hindrances.

AIMC breast hook wire

By: Prof. Jiraporn Laothamatas and Team,  2006. Petty patent 3344

The use of needle to mark the location of the breast lumps during mammogram and ultrasound examination before sending the patients for resection of the mass or for further studies have the following problems:
        1) The needle often moves to the wrong location.
        2) The needle is not very well-enhanced and hard to visualize.
This resulted in reduced diagnostic accuracy which can often lead to patients having to come back and perform the examination again. As a result, AIMC breast hook wire was developed to better hooked on the location of the mass without it coming off before sending the patient for mass removal. Furthermore, this invention has been tested with 600 patients and it has been found to be satisfactory in 99.99% of the cases. This device is also much cheaper than those imported from foreign countries, leading to 12 times reduction in the cost (600 baht versus 50 baht per device).
