History of AIMC

History of Advanced Diagnostic Imaging Center

Advanced Diagnostic Imaging and Image-Guided Minimal Invasive Therapy Center (AIMC) was a pilot project initiated by Prof Athasit Vejjajiva, the dean of Ramathibodi Hospital Faculty of Medicine at the time, while Lady Wiriya Chawakul was the key person of Ramathibodi Foundation to campaign for funding expensive advanced instruments (MRI and CT scanners and a digital X-ray machine) as well as the construction of the center. AIMC is managed under Queen Sirikit Medical Center and Ramathibodi Foundation. Thus, it is independent from the government administrative system. The main objective of the center is to effectively utilize the expensive advanced instruments (MRI and CT scanners) with its 24/7 working hours. However, its objectives in conducting research and teaching complement the mission of Ramathibodi Hospital Faculty of Medicine, Mahidol University.
