Pediatric General Anesthesia in COVID-19 Patient

Background: The  COVID-19  pandemic  presents  a  challenge  to  the  global  healthcare  systems.  Pediatric  population  apparently  less  affected  compare  to  adult  population.  Nevertheless,  aerosol  generating  procedure  such  as  during  airway  management  in  a  non-compliant  child poses a particular threat to health care provider. A case  report: A  Thai  4-year  old  male  with  COVID-19  infection was scheduled for bone marrow harvest. General anesthesia was conducted without any complications
Conclusion:  General  anesthesia  with  rapid  sequence  induction  is  one  of  the  safe  techniques  for  COVID-19  pediatric  patient.  However,  the  appropriate  PPE  and  anesthetic equipment are essential for safety during airway management.
