We would like to invite you to participate in “Model Organisms in Biomedical Research – Drosophila and Zebrafish” which will be held during 17th - 20th December 2019 at Stang Mongkolsuk Conference Room, Faculty of Science, Mahidol University, Bangkok, Thailand. Zebrafish and Drosophila are important model organisms in studying development and human diseases. In this special lecture series, we invite three professors from National Taiwan University to pave the fundamental knowledge of genetics of Drosophila and Zebrafish as well as the use of the animals in biomedical research (5 lectures). In addition, the special lecture provides interactive sessions including project discussions (1 lecture) and hands-on workshop (1 lecture). During project discussions, selected participants may present their current work and discuss with our visiting scholars for the experimental designs of using animals in their studies; hands-on workshop aims to provide basic skills of examining phenotypes and performing genetic modification. *-Certificate of enrolling the short course will be issued by College of Medicine National Taiwan University and Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University-* *The lecture accepts a total of 50 participants due to resource limitation. *The Hands on workshop accepts a total of 15 participants per session due to resource limitation and use rule first come first serve. The NUS Enterprise Summer Programme on Entrepreneurship is targeted at undergraduate students* currently enrolled in university, majoring in any discipline. *Priority consideration will be given to students with a basic interest in entrepreneurship. This programme broadly covers the following topics: Business and cultural context of Singapore and ASEAN Singapore’s Economic Development Model and the Changing Role of Entrepreneurship and Innovation The True Singapore Story (introduction to Singapore’s heritage) The Heart of Singapore’s Startup Ecosystem Understanding the ASEAN Relationship, Language and Culture Experiential introduction to Singapore Practical insights and skills for aspiring entrepreneurs How to be an Entrepreneur Lean Startup and Business Model Pitching and Team Project Themes in entrepreneurship Social Entrepreneurship Intrapreneurship Lectures will be conducted in English by faculty members from the National University of Singapore and industry experts. All students who attain 100% attendance for the programme  will be awarded 4 modular credits (MC) and a Certificate of Participation from NUS Enterprise at the end of the programme. The programme fee is SGD$3,000 (inclusive of 7% GST) and includes accommodation at a student hostel in the NUS campus and some meals. The fee does not cover airfare and airport taxes, travel insurance, visas, some meals, and personal expenses. Looking for a chance for short training in Japan? It's your time! Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine has opened one-week training in November 2019 called Japan-Asia Youth Exchange Program in Science: "Sakura Science Program" http://ssp.jst.go.jp/EN/course/index.html .  Purpose is to accept the Asian students who are interested in enrolling for Master's course or Ph.D. course to Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine in the future for one week (Nov 25-29) to expose the actual laboratory.
