On October 11, 2023, at Meeting Room no. 2, 6th floor, Administrative Building of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, represented the Deputy Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations in extending a warm welcome to the delegates from Jichi Medical University. The delegation was led by Prof. Hiroshi Nishino, M.D., Ph.D., Chairman of the International Relationship Committee and Professor, and accompanied by Prof. Noriyoshi Fukushima, M.D., Ph.D., Member of the International Relationship Committee. During the meeting, discussions were held regarding the renewal of the MOU on student exchange, Joint research topics, and a doctoral scholarship offered by Jichi Medical University.
On October 5th, 2023, a delegation from the University of Health Sciences (UHS), Lao PDR, visited the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital at Mahidol University. The meeting took place in Meeting Room no. 714 on the 7th floor of the Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building. Assoc. Prof. Surasak Leela-Udomlipi, M.D., Director of Ramathibodi Hospital, warmly welcomed the delegation, which was led by Dr. Vanphanom Sychareun, Dean of the Faculty of Public Health at UHS, Mr. Souksavanh Phanpaseuth, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing Science, and Dr. Naly Khaminson, Dean of the Faculty of Medical Technology, while the esteemed members of Ramathibodi's faculty staff were also present, including Asst. Prof. Suchin Worawichawong, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations; Dr. Jiraporn Lininger, Deputy Director for International Relations of the Ramathibodi School of Nursing; Dr. Atsadaporn Niyomyart, Assistant Director of Academic Service at the Ramathibodi School of Nursing; Ms. Nantaporn Lekpittaya, Head of the Clinical Pharmacy Section; Ms. Phatsapa Kaewliem, Head of the Central Sterile Supply Department; and Ms. Budtree Tresattayakul, Nutritionist.
During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Surasak Leela-Udomlipi kindly provided an introduction to the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital. The meeting also involved discussions between the representatives of UHS and Ramathibodi Hospital regarding potential collaboration on training programs for Lao medical personnel. These programs would focus on areas such as Hospital Management, Healthcare Informatics, Pharmacy, and Nursing.
On October 3, 2023, a welcome event for a delegation from Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin, Kuala Terengganu (UNISZA), Malaysia, took place at Meeting room no. 518, 5th floor of the Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building, located at the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University. Assoc. Prof. Sirin Apiyasawat, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, warmly welcomed a delegation from UNISZA.. The visiting team was led by Prof. Dr. Harmy Bin Mohamed Yusoff, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, and Prof. Dr. Yeo Chew Chieng, Chairperson of The Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases and Biotechnology (CeRIDB). In attendance were esteemed members of Ramathibodi's faculty staff including Prof. Dr. Atiporn Ingsathit, Deputy Director of Ramathibodi Hospital; Em. Prof. Wasun Chantratita, Ph.D., Head of the Center for Medical Genomics; Prof. Dr. Suradej Hongeng, M.D., Assistant Dean for Research; Assoc. Prof. Thanyanan Baisamut, M.D., Deputy Head of the Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Oncology; Assist. Prof. Pongtong Puranitee, M.D., Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education; and Dr. Thanaporn Thamrongjirapat, M.D., Lecturer, Department of Internal Medicine, Division of Oncology.
During the event, there were brief presentations covering various topics related to the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital; Hospital Management System, Precision Health: The Integration of Functional Medicine and Genomic Medicine, Research in Hematology/Oncology, Molecular Alteration of Lung Cancer in the Thai Population, and finally, the Undergraduate Program Curriculum. In the afternoon, the visitors enjoyed a facility tour of Ramathibodi Research Center, Somdech Phra Debaratana Medical Center (SDMC), and concluded at the Center for Medical Genomics, Ramathibodi Hospital. It was an enriching and productive day of exchange and collaboration.
On September 29, 2023, the International Relations Section hosted the opening ceremony of the Academic Training Course on Bone Marrow Transplant (BMT). The ceremony took place at Meeting Room 2 on the 5th floor of the Administrative Building, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University and was presided over by Professor Yuwares Sittichanbuncha, M.D., the Deputy Dean for Centers of Excellence.
The objective of the training course is to foster the sharing of knowledge and expertise on Bone Marrow Transplant among trainees from the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia, RSUPN Dr. Cipto Mangunkusumo (RSCM), and the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Indonesia, Rumah Sakit Anak dan Bunda Harapan Kita, Indonesia (RSAB). This valuable collaboration aims to enhance understanding and capabilities in the field of Bone Marrow Transplantation.
At the ceremony, Professor Sittichanbuncha, M.D., kindly provided an introduction to Ramathibodi's Centers of Excellence, while Professor Suradej Hong-eng, M.D., and Associate Professor Dr. Usanarat Anurathapan, M.D., esteemed lecturers from the Department of Pediatrics, gave a brief overview of the Introduction to Bone Marrow Transplant Training Project for Medical Doctors.
On September 14, 2023, Meeting room no. 2, 5th floor, Office of the Dean, the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, Professor Piyamitr Sritara, M.D., the Dean of the Faculty, along with his esteemed team including Professor Pongsak Khowsathit, M.D., Senior Deputy Dean for Education and Research, Professor Anant Khositseth, M.D., Deputy Dean for Undergraduate Education, Asst. Prof. Pongthong Puranitee, M.D., Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education, and Ms. Thanatchanan Manopechkasem, Head, Medical Education Section gathered together to extend a warm welcome to Professor Matthew L. Hunsaker, M.D., the Dean for the Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) - Green Bay, USA.
The purpose of Professor Hunsaker's visit was to explore potential collaboration between the institutes regarding medical education and academic exchange. As the founding dean of MCW-Green Bay, Professor Hunsaker plays a crucial role in providing leadership and management for MCW's regional campus in Green Bay. He works closely with the academic and healthcare partners in the region, which are essential components of the immersive teaching model of the program.
Ratchasuda Institute, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital has executed the training in communication skills and social skills for youth with various types of disabilities from all over the country to participate in this training at the Palazzo Hotel, Bangkok between 24-27 August 2023
This training is a part of the “We are Able” project , with support from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in collaboration with the City Foundation (CITI Foundation). The project fulfilled the commitment of UNDP Strategies which are 1) Promoting equal rights 2) Strengthening economic empowerment, and 3) Mainstreaming disability inclusion. The outcome includes enhancing the potential of youth with disabilities at school age from undergraduate or vocational college. There were totally 27 young people with various disabilities; visual or hearing impairment, physical or movement disabilities, psychosocial disabilities and some with autism.
Ms. Irina Goryunova, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative, presided over the training on August 24th, 2023 mentioning that the session would provide a basis for youth with disabilities to develop social and communication skills empowering them becoming successful in their working lives as well as and personal life. It also highlights the power and potential of people with disabilities and milestones in creating a society where everyone can live, together, happily, feel included in the “Inclusive Society” with individual equal rights, access to economic and social opportunities and development policies inclusive to persons with disabilities.

สถาบันราชสุดา คณะแพทยศาสตร์โรงพยาบาลรามาธิบดี จัดอบรมทักษะการสื่อสารและทักษะทางสังคมแก่เยาวชนพิการหลากหลายประเภทจากทั่วประเทศได้เข้าร่วมอบรมทักษะการสื่อสารและทักษะทางสังคมที่โรงแรมพาลาซโซ กรุงเทพฯ ระหว่างวันที่ 24-27 สิงหาคม 2566
การจัดอบรมดังกล่าวเป็นส่วนหนึ่งของโครงการ “We are Able” ที่ได้รับสนับสนุนจากสำนักงานโครงการพัฒนาแห่งสหประชาชาติ หรือ United Nations Development Program (UNDP) ร่วมกับ มูลนิธิซิตี้ (CITI Foundation) โครงการดังกล่าวเป็นไปตามความมุ่งมั่นของ UNDP ที่จะบรรลุยุทธศาสตร์อันได้แก่
1. ส่งเสริมการมีสิทธิเท่าเทียม (Promoting equal rights)

Assoc. Prof. Sirin Apiyasawat, M.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, Assoc. Prof. Usanarat Anurathapan, M.D., Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education, and Ms. Jirawadee Matoon, Head of International Relations Section, represented the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss potential collaborations between the two institutes. The visitors from Universitas Surabaya included Dr. Risma Ikawaty, Ph.D, Vice Dean of Academic Affairs, and Dr. Kevin Muliawan Soetanto, M.Sc, Academic Staff. After the fruitful exchange of ideas and information, the delegates were given a guided tour of various facilities within the Faculty including the library, comfort learning space, fitness center, and the shuttle commuting service.
August 25, 2023 - Bangkok, Thailand:
Dr. Meng-Shin Shiao, Ph.D., Assistant Dean for International Relations and Research Collaborations, along with Ms. Jirawadee Matoon, Head of the International Relations Section, warmly welcomed representatives from universities in Taiwan (R.O.C.) to Ramathibodi. The purpose of their visit was to present and exchange educational information as well as to have a discussion on potential collaborations.
The delegation from Taiwan consisted of esteemed representatives from 7 universities. The visit aimed to foster collaborations and provide valuable insights into the educational landscape of both countries.

The purpose of this visit is to allow the Ambassadors of the Middle East countries to witness firsthand the technological advancement of the CNMI, and would be beneficial in exploring and expanding cooperation in the field of medical sciences and medical services between Thailand and the Middle East countries. This is also to support Thailand's policy to become a Medical Hub for international patients. During the visit, the delegation visited various departments and services of the institute, including the Emergency room, Diagnostic Radiology unit, Rehabilitation center, Intensive care unit (ICU), Catheterization Laboratory, Critical Care Unit (CCU) and 7G - the latest advancement in medical technology.
Professor Dr. Piyamit Sritara, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, expressed gratitude to the honored delegation for attending the meeting and emphasized the importance of international collaboration in healthcare development and research. Between July 27 - 29, 2023, Associate Professor Usanarat Anurathapan, M.D., Assistant Dean for Undergraduate Education, as the representative of the Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, attended the 12th ASEAN Medical Deans' Summit hosted by the ASEAN Medical Deans Summit (AMDS) organizing committee from Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. The highly anticipated 3-day summit of this year was organized under the theme "Towards the Development of Future Ready ASEAN Health Professionals".
The ASEAN Medical Deans’ Summit (AMDS) was founded by 12 ASEAN higher education institutions. The AMDS was arranged to promote collaboration among leading medical schools in the ASEAN region, to leverage medical education and health systems towards international excellence, and to prepare to work as one community.
