March 22, 2021, at 910AB Room, 9th Floor, Medical Learning Resource Center and Ramathibodi School of Nursing Building, Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, Thailand, as well as via the ZOOM online platform, Prof. Sirintara Singhara Na Ayudhaya, M.D., Deputy Dean for International Relations, presided over the 1st International Online Conference on Pediatric Hearing loss: Diagnosis, Management and Rehabilitation during March 22nd – 24th, 2021. This international conference, which hosted by Ramathibodi’s Department of Communication Science and Disorder, honored by the famous speakers and moderators both from Ramathibodi and overseas institutions with international recognition, including Dr. Rebecca Kim from Macquarie University, Australia, Prof. Dr. Carol Westby from the Bilingual Multicultural Services in Albuquerque, USA, and Prof. Dr. Goh Bee See from University Focusing on the professionals working with hearing impairment in children, the conference expects that the audiences will achieve knowledge in the topics regarding Research on Genetic hearing loss, Hearing loss and its impact, Surgical Treatments available: Cochlear Implant for treatment severe to profound HL cases, and Key surgical consideration, Baha implant for treatment conductive HL cases and key surgical considerations, New-born hearing screening & Diagnosis of hearing loss, Management & Auditory rehabilitation, Communication and family-centred practice in Australia – Thailand, Learning foundations in children with hearing impairment, Development of theory of mind in children with hearing impairment, and finally, Teaching theory of mind to develop social and literacy skills in children with hearing impairment.

This international conference is also counted as a part of the "Thailand Hearing Hub project" under the collaboration of Faculty of Medicine Ramathibodi Hospital, Mahidol University, and Macquarie University, in hope of being benefit to the ASEAN community in term of human resources developing and capacity building for medical and health science education.
