Philosophy of the Program 

The program aims to produce graduates with advanced knowledge and integrated competence in related fields by creating innovations and new knowledge through Vision and leadership to make changes to improve quality of life of persons with disabilities based on human dignity, equality, Empowerment and Civil Rights of Persons with Disabilities with proper conduct according to professional and research ethics.

Program Objectives

  • At the end of the program, Graduates will meet the following graduate qualifications standards:
  • 1. Have morals, ethics and respect of the rules and perform in accordance with the code of conduct of academic and professional standards.
  • 2. Have knowledge on the development of quality of life of persons with disabilities and be able to explain, analyze and compare related and current relevant theories. 
  • 3. Be able to synthesize, apply and integrate body of knowledge from various disciplines to create new knowledge through research and innovation processes and use the knowledge to create changes to improve quality of life of persons with disabilities. 
  • 4. Become a change agent with Interpersonal relationship and responsibilities to live peacefully with others in society. 
  • 5. Be able to apply information technology and communication processes effectively toward development of life quality of persons with disabilities. 

Program Learning Outcomes : PLOs

  • 1. Demonstrate personal relationship skills, working with others, teamwork and Social Leadership as change manager in Disability field.
  • 2. Design and implement knowledge management of community practitioners in terms of the knowledge of disability field in local community and national level.
  • 3. Build an integrated body of knowledge through research and innovations related to disability to promote quality of life of persons with disabilities.
  • 4. Apply knowledge to promote quality of life of persons with disabilities through virtue, professional ethics, equality and human dignity.

Admission Requirements

  • 1. hold a Master's degree in any field which is accredited by Office of Higher Education Commission.
  • 2. have a minimum grade point average of 3.50
  • 3. have English test score according to the requirement for English proficiency established by the graduate school of Mahidol University.
  • 4. have work experience in disability field for at least one year or have done research or academic work related to Persons with Disabilities on at least one topic.
  • 5. Exemptions from the above conditions may be granted by the Programme Committee and Dean of Graduate School.

  • 2. Researcher in the field of quality of life for persons with disabilities.
  • 3. Consultant in the field of quality of life for persons with disabilities.
  • Requirement for graduation
  • 1. Actual student study time is according to the study plan.
  • 2. Must study courses According to the course structure with at least 14 credits of coursework and complete a dissertation 36 credits totaling at least 50 credits for the entire program, with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00. 
  • 3. Must pass the Qualifying Examination. 
  • 4. Must pass the English language examination according to the criteria of the Graduate School, Mahidol University. 
  • 5. Must participate in activities to enhance work skills and proper living in society according to the criteria of the Graduate School.
  • 6. Must present a thesis and pass the thesis examination by oral examination by thesis defend examination committee appointed by the Graduate School where the exam was conducted according to the guidelines and opened to interested people to attend. 
  • 7. Research results or part of the thesis was published or accepted for publication in a quality international journal According to the announcement of the Graduate School. 
  • 8. Students receiving scholarships or other grants During the course of study must meet the criteria and conditions of the scholarship.
