Philosophy of the Program 

Individuals develop the learning based on the respect and acceptance of the individual differences through the practice, research process, and work with others by considering to morality and ethics.

The program emphasizes the management of inclusive education and positive attitude towards persons with special needs.

Program Objectives

To produce the graduate with the knowledge of educational management for persons with special needs in inclusive learning, learning management and service support, assist persons with special needs based on academic principles, including the skills of self-research, analysis and teamwork based on the morality, ethics, and professional ethics. The graduate student can apply to use in education management or learning management in the institutions or in the organizations that work per the educational policy for the institution with inclusive education.

Program–level Learning Outcomes: PLOs

  • After completing the program, the graduates will: 
  • 1. Identify or demonstrate professionalism with integrity, morality, and professional ethics and show responsibility and a good attitude towards persons with special needs.
  • 2. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of education for persons with special needs in inclusive education, learning management, and other support services. 
  • 3. Demonstrate skills in critical thinking and criticism according to academic principles based on research process to develop teaching and learning for persons with special needs in inclusive education.
  • 4. Demonstrate the ability to be a leader in inclusive education and working with parents, teachers, educational staff, and other professionals.
  • 5. Demonstrates the ability to use technology and communication to support education for persons with special needs.
  • 6. Demonstrates the application of knowledge gained to design and organize teaching and learning activities for persons with special needs in inclusive education.

Date and time of the course teaching

  • - Weekend: Saturday and Sunday
  • - 3 Semesters per academic year
  •        • Semester 1 August – December
  •        • Semester 2 January – April
  •        • Summer semester May – July

Admission Requirements

  • Plan A (2)
  • A candidate must:
  • 1. Graduate or plan to graduate before the semester opening day of all programs in educational field which is accredited by the Teachers' Council.
  • 2. Receive a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50
  • 3. Passed the English language test according to the criteria of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  • 4. Exceptions to the above items may be considered by chairman of Program Committee and Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  • Plan B
  • 1. Graduate of all programs in educational field which is accredited by the Teachers' Council.
  • 2. Receive a cumulative GPA of at least 2.50
  • 3. Students must have working experience not less than 3 years.
  • 4. Passed the English language test according to the criteria of the Faculty of Graduate Studies.
  • 5. Exception to the above items may be considered by chairman of Program Committee and Dean of Faculty of Graduate Studies.

 

  • Career After Graduation 
  • 1. Special education / Inclusive education specialist.
  • 2. Teacher and academic staff in both formal and informal education in basic education, vocational education, and higher education.

 

  • Requirement for graduation
  • Plan A (2)
  • 1. Take the time to study according to the study plan.
  • 2. Must study courses according to the program structure including studying at least 26 credits of coursework and complete 12 credits of a thesis, totaling at least 38 credits for the entire program, with a cumulative grade point average of not less than 3.00
  • 3. Must pass the English language examination according to the criteria of the Graduate School, Mahidol University.
  • 4. Must attend required activities for enhancing working skills and living in society according to the Graduate School regulation.
  • 5. Must present a thesis and pass the thesis examination by a committee appointed by the Graduate School and the examination is an open event for interested people to listen.
  • 6. The thesis or part of the thesis must be published or at least accepted for publication in an academic journal or publication or present to the academic conference which has proceeding according to the regulation of the Graduate School.
  • Plan B
  • 1. Take the time to study according to the study plan.
  • 2. Must study courses according to the program structure including studying at least 32 credits of coursework and complete 6 credits of a thematic paper, totaling at least 38 credits for the entire program, with a cumulative grade point average of not less than 3.00
  • 3. Must pass the English language examination according to the criteria of the Graduate School, Mahidol University.
  • 4. Must attend required activities for enhancing working skills and living in society according to the Graduate School regulation.
  • 5. Must pass a comprehensive examination according to the regulation of the Graduate School.
  • 6. Must present a thematic paper and pass the thematic paper examination by a committee appointed by the Graduate School and the examination is an open event for interested people to listen.
  • 7. The thematic paper or part of the thematic paper must be published in any way that is searchable.
